Preparing for the GED essay can be done
best by practicing. You need to develop the skills of carrying out a
strategy on how to write the piece in 45 minutes. With the time
constraint, you cannot write a rough draft before the final form.
However, you can still plan and proceed immediately to writing a good
final form. You can do so by following a few simple steps which include
gathering ideas, organising and writing the examination.
1. Gather Ideas –
Write down ideas you have about the topic or question. Based on these
notes which you have written, figure out the main idea of your work and
identify which ones you will use as details that will support your main
idea. If you look at custom essays, you can observe this.
2. Strategy – To
gather ideas for your work, think about the topic and write down with
specificity what are your thoughts. Write while thinking. Study the
instructions given and develop a theme or concept for what you want to
write about the topic. Using your personal experiences can also be
helpful in writing this kind of custom essays. Do not bother to organise your notes; you will do so in another step.
3. Organise –
Arrange your ideas in a way that such sequence will be logical or, in
other words, they will make sense. See to it that you have enough points
which will support them. Also, make sure that the supporting details
are relevant to your main idea. You can number each item in your notes
to denote the sequence in which you will use them.
4. Write – After
arranging your ideas, you can now write your examination. Then, you can
review what you have written to finalise everything. You can start by
writing each of the ideas into complete sentences. In doing this, you
can write as fast as you can to catch up with the train of thought you
have in mind. You can still make a few minor corrections afterwards.
5. Organisation – An
important aspect of your writing is organisation. You can use the five
paragraph format in structuring your work. This pattern consisting of
one introduction paragraph, three discussion paragraphs and one
conclusion paragraph is one that is used by many custom essays.
